Hunting Season 2010

Foreman - Irish's I'm A Knock Out Foreman is 20 months old in these pictures and this is his first duck season. He did a little upland hunting last year. He is out of Ch. Irish's Gallant Sailor & Ch. Irish's Crown Princess. He is bred and owned by Gary & Dorene Irish.

All the birds in these photos were taken off various parts of the Thornapple River on our property in Nashville, MI.

This pair of Wood Ducks were Foreman's first ducks.

The duck blends in so well here, it's hard to see.

Molly - Irish's Huntress of St. John's Here's another youngster learning the ropes. Molly is out of Ch. Irish's Gallant Sailor & Ch.** Irish's She's The One. She is just a year old here. She is owned by Dean & Lesley Durik. They are quite impressed with how quickly she is sharpening her natural abilities.

Clover & Sage Clover (Ch. Irish's Crown Prince x Ch. Irish's Royal Lady O'Grandeur) is pictured with Sage (Ch. Irish's Gallant Sailor x Am**/Can Ch Irish's She's The One) who is just a year old after a hunt with owner Jeff Meyer in Wyoming.

Clover, Sage and introducing Moose, the newest addition to the family. He is out of Ch. Irish's Marsh Monarch & Ch. Irish's Lady of Clover Leaf. He's getting a 'taste' of pheasants so he'll know what to do next season.

Sage retrieving her goose. She is doing great for this being her first season. She had just turned a year old in September.

Another busy day for Sage of bringing in the birds (50+) for Jeff and some others. Here's what Jason Randolf of Wyo-Braska Waterfowl had to say about Sage: "I witnessed the finest Chesapeake retriever work I have ever seen. And Sage is just a pup. She is going to be something special."

Bob - GCH* Irish's Robert Garcia DePadua Bob and owner/trainer Tim Jennings after one of many grouse hunts in northern Michigan. Bob is out of Ch. Irish's Lord Of The Mist & Am**/Can Ch. Irish's She's The One.

Bob & Tim had a productive day of Sharp Tail Grouse, Pheasants, Ducks and Geese hunting in North Dakota. Tim said the hunting was brutal that day.

Lucy Lucy's owner Roy Ebel sent this story and picture. Lucy is out of Ch. Irish's Gallant Knight & Ch.* Irish's Lady Of Clover Leaf. Lucy continues to improve and is very much in tune with whats going on and what her job is, she is such a smart and observant dog, I often catch her watching me as I preform tasks and can see her thinking "I can do that,I don't need you" She made about a 500 yard retrieve on a crippled blue bill this year, I thought it was dead in the decoys when I sent her but ol' lazarus the scaup flipped over and started heading out to sea when she was halfway there and then the chase was on! I was watching through binoculars and was about to start the boat and go get her when she finally caught it, boy was she proud of herself that day, never seen a dog so smug after that. I had to point out to her that the bird had a broken wing and one deformed foot and still almost out swam her just to bring her back down to size, she said "oof" which I took to mean "yea but YOU could not of even swam 500 yards twice, much less caught up to it" so I conceded the point :0)

Amber - Irish's Amber Eyes Sacra B.D. Amber is out of Ch. Irish's CK Dexter Haven & Ch. Irish's Mystical Maiden. She is owned and trained by Don Sacra. From a recent winter hunt Don writes: Donovan and Amber hunting along with friend George. Amber flushed all the birds and retrieved all that the guys hit... But there is more...One rooster was missed... flew two farm fields over with Amber in hot pursuit. I whistled for Amber as no one had a round in their gun...no response.. 5 minutes later Amber returned.with the rooster in her mouth, alive and well.Crazy Amber!
