'CHARLEE'
D.O.B. April 3, 2018
What fun Charlee has been so far, although we really haven't taken her to many shows. At 5 months old she competed in the 4-6 Month Puppy competition at the Genesee County Kennel Club and earned a Puppy Group 2. Come December, Charlee attended the 2018 Ingham County Kennel Club shows at 8 months old, just for experience. She took a first & second and behaved herself. Pretty much all we were hoping for. Her next outing was the American Chesapeake Club Supported weekend at the Saginaw Valley Kennel Club held April 6 & 7, 2019. What a weekend she had! On that Saturday, She picked up Best in Sweepstakes & Reserve Winners Bitch. The following day, Charlee repeated the Best in Sweepstakes win and was also awarded Winners Bitch out of the Bred By Exhibitor class from an entry of 13 bitches for a 5 point Major, along with Best of Opposite Sex over 4 Champions!
Charlee finished her title at the Ingham County Kennel Club shows on December 3rd & 4th, going Winners both days for 6 points, finishing her title in 4 majors. Saturday’s win was pretty hard fought. We had a little flock of about 6 sparrows in and adjacent to our ring. Needless to say, Charlee only had one thing or should I say 6 things on her mind. None of which were about showing! It was nearly impossible to move her around the ring. She was either in froze & locked on the birds or in charge & retrieve mode. It took a while, but we finally managed to get it done. Come the next day, the sparrows moved on to other rings, only making an occasional fly-by while we were waiting to go in. I think Charlee showed the best she ever had that day & how thankful I was!
