CH IRISH'S ROYAL KNIGHT
(Ch. Shore Waters Michigan CD x Ch. Irish's Shining Princess)
'Jack'
June 27, 1979 ~ August 22, 1987
Jack was from Toby's first litter and the first of our dogs to be ranked in the Top Ten. At 7 years old after only 3 Breed wins which included Supported Entry wins at the Detroit Kennel Club and Kalamazoo Kennel Club, he was ranked #10. One of our long time mentors, John Wood (Blustrywood Kennel) was so impressed with the quality and condition of Jack as a Veteran that year, he told us that we had to take him to the National Specialty that coming September. Unfortunately we lost him to lightening the month prior to the National.
If you are wondering why there is a photo of a chicken on this page, there is a story behind that. That white rooster was one mean chicken. He had attacked several family members with his spurs. He was owned by my parents. Whenever Gary and I would visit them and had Jack with us, Jack would make a game of running the rooster in one circle around the horse shed and them come back. Well one day, he didn't come back as usual. Gary called him and he came with that mean ole rooster in his mouth dead. We figure that rooster finally had enough of being chased by Jack and turned on him with his spurs. Well, Jack wasn't about to put up with that. I paired the rooster photo with that last one of Jack because I thought he had somewhat of a laughing expression on his face.
