CH IRISH'S GALLANT PRINCE

(King Leroy x Irish's Lady Grace)

'TAKU'
5-17-84 ~ 3-14-98

Taku was a big guy, 107 pounds in his prime, but never cumbersome.  He moved as agile and light on his feet as Chessies half his size.    He was a great waterfowl dog, but excelled on upland game.  Taku had a gentle disposition to match his size.  He was our designated 'puppy sitter' well into his old age.  Tending his last litter at 12 years old.  We retired him after that.  Not due to protest on his part, we just felt he didn't need to put up with those biting weanlings anymore at his age.

Taku finished his Championship in 1986 accumulating his points over 5 weekends, picking up 4 majors along the way.  He wasn't shown much after that until he was a Veteran where he won several Veteran classes at ACC Supported Entries.  He won a Judges Award of Merit at the 1991 American Chesapeake Club National Specialty at 7 years old.
