CH Irish's Zia Sun Princess
(Ch. Irish's Mystical Merlin x Ch. Irish's Bodacious Bonita)
'ZIA'
April 26, 1997 ~ November 19, 2012
Zia was one of our co-own picks that went to live in IL. Due to no fault of her own, we got her back at about a year and a half of age. She was a wonderful girl and fit right in at our house. She was a gentle soul with people and other animals. But true to Chessie form, she would protect her people and all puppies as if they were her own. There is cute story about that.
Friends were over visiting with their approximately 6 month old Chessie they had gotten from us. While we were visiting, we had the puppy, Jesse, in the yard with Zia. When it was time for our friends to leave, they went to retrieve Jesse, but quickly returned empty handed. Zia would not let them take 'her' puppy. Because of the combination of her gentle nature and protectiveness, we had no reservations about using her as our puppy sitter while puppies we out in the yard.
Zia also came back to us with one habit we never were able to totally break. She liked to counter surf and see what was cooking on the stove, as you can see in the photo gallery of her below.
